SF Giants Reflection

As I sit here curled up on the couch, reading my book, while Mr. Darcy watches his Vikings game, I can’t help but think about my SF Giants and how happy I am that they’ve done it again – rallied our big city, giving us something to cheer about and an extended season to look forward to! Until the playoffs…..GO GIANTS!!!

BTW, this is how the trees look outside AT&T park…kind of loving it for Halloween/Playoff season! DIY project anyone!?! Mr. Darcy and I are playing with a lighting situation in our backyard for the 30th Fiesta so I will be sure to report back once it is completed.

Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle – A “Haute” Butt

OK, with the weekend upon us, I keep thinking of this past weekend AND it wasn’t TOTALLY dedicated to comfort food…I had to mix in a few workouts because this front hump is getting almost as big as my back humps, ha! As I said last week, this is the first time I had PINTEREST on a business trip and it was like having a personal trainer in my back pocket! I tried TheHauteBunny’s Brazillian Butt workout as part of a longer workout while on the road and it HURT the next morning…but in a good I-guess-I-NEVER-workout-my-butt-correctly way ;-). So, last weekend I did those tough workouts again and plan on trying them again this weekend.

Try this BUTT WORKOUT out people, it is awesome: http://thehautebunny.wordpress.com/2012/05/08/brazilian-butt-workout/ (I love her moving photos…so much more helpful than trying to describe these nuanced movements in words)

I also did Shape.com’s 10-Crunch-Free-Ab-Workouts twice on the East Coast trip…and I forced myself to do them again last weekend: http://www.shape.com/fitness/workouts/10-crunch-free-moves-killer-abs?page=2. I can’t tell if this one worked because I was so sore from travel that I need to do this one again to see if it works…will report back after attempting again this weekend.

Inspired by the above Ab workout, I searched Pinterest for more Shape.com workouts and found this amazing “25 Most Deceiving Exercises (They Tone More than You Think!): http://www.shape.com/fitness/25-most-deceiving-exercises-they-tone-more-you-think?page=12” MY REVIEW: My quads are SUPER sore today and I was definitely sweating more than I thought these workouts would make me…but can ANYONE do a Ninja Tuck Jump?! This link takes you directly there…try it! Report back!

Anyhoo, my front hump needs some help. If you guys have ANY ab workouts that work for you, please share! I just saw Gwen Stefani’s performance on Ellen and GOOD LORD, if that isn’t inspiration I don’t know what is!

Here’s to a weekend full of DIY crafts (less comfort food testing) and workouts!!!

INSPIRED – Happy Anniversary Young House Love!

For readers who come here for DIY home ideas, I MUST introduce you to YoungHouseLove.com (YHL). My sister introduced me to the YHL back when Mr. Darcy and I purchased our home and the young couple who puts it together is such an inspiration. Obviously their DIY skills have inspired many but if you are not familiar with them, I’d love to add you to one of the many who read their blog. Seriously, they have the greatest ideas. I have to say, I was super inspired by all that they did in their first home (See before and after shots here: http://www.younghouselove.com/photo-gallery-2/our-first-house/). While they seem to be tackling harder and harder jobs in their new home, I am still learning A LOT from their original home and current projects.

Anyhoo, they just celebrated their 5 Year Blogiversary yesterday and I thoroughly enjoyed watching their celebration video (she reminds me of Jenna Lee Dewan, better known as Tatum Channing’s wife – wait, what?! That’s not how you know Jenna? Oh, ok, sorry. That is how she is better known to me, ha!) and I thought you might enjoy getting to know them too: http://www.younghouselove.com/2012/09/blogiversary-5-since-you-asked/

HAPPY BLOGIVERSARY to two of the most incredible DIY home owners! I only hope Mr. Darcy and I can do justice to some of your incredible DIY projects – especially this headboard project: http://www.younghouselove.com/2012/06/the-headboard-adventures-part-2/ I just pinned this the other day (Thank you for having the PIN IT button on your website) and fingers-crossed, I’ll have a new headboard before the end of the year ;-).

“I am the GREATEST Staaaaaaaar”

I cannot help myself. After the Katie Couric interview with Barbra I cannot stop listening to “Funny Girl” songs on YouTube. Here is one of my FAVORITE scenes from that entire movie:

Just try not to fall in love with her after watching this! Mr. Darcy really does not like the beginning when she is being silly, but that is my FAVORITE part! I fall in love with her every time I watch this movie.

ENJOY! -Karen
